Prefab is a family of clumsy geometric typefaces made with compass and rule, lacking any optical correction. It is inspired by three main sources: polish traffic signage typeface, vernacular typography and prefabricated concrete housing blocks in Poland, called Wielka Płyta, Panelák or LPS (large-panel system building). It can be described as an experiment in the field of critical typography but it is also an approach to create a family of brutalist typefaces.
